I think Michael overtakes him.

I actually didn't read the "3rd" part of the question. I don't know of any that you could grab late that would be worth that. I do think that Lynch may have played through the guaranteed portion of his contract though.

Epic Cajun is correct. Lynch may have 'years left on contract' but he is done after this yr in Seattle.

CMichael is the correct answer here

Caviat...if u r aiming for the future (like i think u r saying) & not immediate retuns

please tell me why. are y'all just guessing? did Michael impress everyone that much in the preseason that y'all are trading Lynch already for next year?

correct, I'd like to end the season with someone to keep for next year. not looking for someone to plug in now.

Kash, I actually do have Dunbar and Hunter on my team at this moment.

With as much coverage as fantasy gets now, everyone knows all the same things, pretty much. Anybody bound to break out sooner rather than later is on half your league's radar, and selected too early as a result. Your best remaining option is to stash high talent players and hope that that talent translates to a starting gig, IMO.

Local media is saying that the Hawks don't want to pay Lynch next season (contract isn't guaranteed next year) and think the team might move on.

FWIW analysts are all over Michael, saying that he has elite running talent:

quote:

Michael is up to 27 preseason carries for 186 yards (6.89 YPC) with the one catch. The second-round pick needs to clean up his pass pro, but there is no question he's a more skilled runner than Robert Turbin, and is at least close to Marshawn Lynch. Michael is the preferred Lynch handcuff in Seattle's backfield. He runs with long speed, sensational cutting ability, and natural power.

quote:

Former NFL scout Matt Williamson predicts Michael will be a "total stud and true every-down running back" by 2016.

And on Turbin:

quote:

I re-watched and charted all 114 of Turbin's touches over the weekend. These were my takeaways:

For a rookie back who averaged a seemingly impressive 4.4 yards per carry, Turbin's tape wasn't so impressive. Strictly as a ball carrier, he's a gets-what's-blocked runner. With few exceptions, I didn't see Turbin add yardage to runs and pass plays with broken tackles or elusiveness. Although Turbin demonstrated some open-field pop when he lowered his shoulder to take defenders head on, his ability to generate yards after contact was disappointing. Albeit in a small sample size, I noticed Turbin was ineffective in short-yardage situations as a rookie. He carried the football four times on third-and-short plays (two yards or fewer), and executed just once for the first down.

Despite his fast forty time, Turbin lacks ideal initial burst and giddy-up. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call Turbin a "plodder," but there is very little quick-twitch movement to his game

I get all that. If Michael was behind Gore or an older/injury prone running back, I'd agree 100% he's the guy to target. But that guy just boldly predicted Lynch is gone after this year.

I just want to know the reason behind that line of thought.

Sounds like what you said about Alfred Morris last year in the preseason

I didn't say that. I posted a quote from a site, same as I did just now. I didn't go chart all of Turbin's carries, bro, just like I didn't Morris. Just bringing info to the board. Obviously analysts aren't always correct

eta: FWIW the thing last year was after the Saints game when all they were going off of was that one game tape on Morris. The stuff on Turbin is a full 114 touches

It's a stretch, but you never know; that's why we don't get paid to post this nonsense. I'm a Lynch owner in a keeper league, so I'd like to see him play another 29 or so years.
