offense: conservative or explosive?

What in general is the Rant expecting from the changes with Cam? the same conservative offense that has actually served us well the last decade, or is everyone really expecting them to take the field Saturday and perform like a different team than we previously knew?
Honestly, I'm expecting the same. maybe just SLIGHTLY more pass heavy. What I am really hoping to see is just the removal of the predictability.

Les Miles is still the head coach. We'll always be conservative.

As long as we field defenses like we have been conservative is ok but I would like to see a few more shots downfield.

I want it balanced and fairly unpredictable. Explosive is fine, as long as we can turn it on and off. I want to be able to control the game at the end of halves, and power running is essential to that.

we aren't going to look like oregon or texas am if thats what you were wondering

it is unlikely that we abandon our strengths (OL and RB) and run a full spread offense. so those looking for 600 yds of offense are going to be disappointed. the purpose of the game is to win, not impress young video playing fans. i do expect a better passing game; hopefully good enough to prevent defenses from cheating to stop the run. i also expect more passes to the TE's and RB's which we actually did indeed witness toward the end of last year.

how would you define Alabama's offense?

I would be happy with balanced AND Timely play calling.

I would like to see consistent conservative, and hopefully that's what we get.
It's not miles nature at lsu to be explosive and I don't think it ever will be as long as the defense is good.
By consistent conservative, I mean running the ball well, completing passes for first downs, moving the chains, and owning t.o.p. I think t.o.p will be a huge stat this year and lsu will be tough to beat if they can control it as well as have a great defense again.
The season could go to shite real quick though, if the offense acts like it has the past few seasons. The can't leave the defense on the field all year this year and expect to win. While I think the d will be awesome this year, I don't know if they have to depth to stay on the field all game like the past few seasons.
Offense just has to move the ball.

I would like to score points offensively. I don't care how.

I still expect about a 80/20 run heavy offense. However, with Cam on board as OC I do believe our Pass offense will be way more effecient.

We've never had a run heavy offense? In the past its been more like 90/10 run heavy, but in the Cam era I expect 80/20.

By far the biggest difference you will see is him getting the ball to tailbacks and fullbacks in the passing game.
Cam has never been one to throw it all of the yard. One of the reasons the teams he's been associated with have been so successful is that his offenses very rarely turn over the football.

How far in the past? 1906? We have never been 90/10 or 80/20 under any coach in my lifetime. When we go run heavy, it's generally 60-40 run/pass or 65/35 against a good team. We only close games out with run, run, run when we are up by 30 and Miles is trying not to run up the score.

No it hasn't. It was 60/40 last year.
