Let's see there are only two characters in the whole damn movie. One is the most overrated, annoying, nasally voiced woman in Hollywood today and the other is the most smug, self-important hack prick that ever stepped foot in Southern California.

So you take them and have them float around in space for a bit with a bunch of overbearing music and faux drama thrown in.

Riveting tale chaps.

I agree with you to a certain extent. Children of Men was a very good movie, but it's treated like the Godfather by a lot of people on here. It just isn't. It's very artistic, it has real tension, and solid performances by the actors, but it drags a bit at parts and didn't quite grab me as I hoped it would. It may be that I just need to see it again since the last I saw it was in theaters.

You are spot on about Bullock, though. She really is just not a good actress. She was fine in the Blindside, but her winning the Oscar that year was an affront to artists everywhere. Everything else she's been in she really wasn't that good in, including her comedies, which are largely carried by her "supporting" actors.

Clooney is a bit smug and a little too political for me, but he is a solid actor and I like most of the things he's in.

This movie has potential, but I'm not going to nut myself over a handful of reviews, even if they are from Variety.
