I just did this last weekend. Go to hardware store and buy a 4" PVC "T" and a 4" toilet base. Remove spreader, widen hole on feeder to 4". Screw toilet base to bottom of feeder. Glue "T" to toilet base. DONE!

Side note - I open the whole to 4" because i use "dirty" beans for feed and the trash tends to clog up the smaller hole on the feeder.

If your feedeing clean corn you don't have to widen the hole.

The way we made our gravity feeders was to take a piece of 4" pvc, glue a cap on one end then using the grinder cut a slit about half way through the pipe. Then, using the torch we heated up the plastic and bent it into the channel of the pipe to restrict the flow of corn, and held it there til it cooled and stayed in the shape we wanted. Do this in a well ventilated area because you "WILL" catch it on fire and those fumes are toxic as shite. Then just put a cap on the other end without glue for the top. Also, we drilled some holes through the pipe and tied them to trees with tie wire. The hogs could beat them up pretty good, but only rarely were they able to dislodge them from the tree.

Any chance you could post a pic of this, so I can see if I might want to use this. It sounds like it would work for what I'm looking for though.
