apparently due to Parkinson's.

Sad, I liked her from the time she was with the Stone Ponies:
"Different Drum"
Solo:
"Long, Long Time"
With the Nelson Riddle Orchestra:
"Someone To Watch Over Me"

This makes me sad, she is one of the best female voices of all time. I was thinking about her recently and wondered why I hadn't heard anything about her lately. I thought she may have permanantly retired.

Saw this earlier. Prayers sent
Her standards albums are probably her best work. The '70s hits that made her famous are mostly unremarkable, and her attempts at rockers are awful. I heard her version of "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" first, and hated the song until I heard Warren Zevon's original. And as for her covers of Elvis Costello, let's not even go there...

Her version of Around Midnight is sublime.
A true legend-Henley and Frey were in her band.

Linda's cover of Dolly Parton's epic ballard
crushes Whitney Houston's version by miles.
