Question about Alabama v. LSU Schedule
Posted on 8/23/13 at 9:54 am

The friends who invited me to the LSU - TCU game were talking about how SEC scheduling favors Alabama.
Does LSU not have a way of complaining about the schedule, or does it like it this way so that Alabama cannot complain if LSU wins the SEC?
I was told that Alabama and LSU have to have one opponent from the other division to play every year. LSU gets Florida but Alabama gets Tennessee, which seems to favor Alabama.
LSU has an away game at Georgia this year, and Alabama gets Kentucky, a bad team. Alabama will face only one team ranked in the preseason Top 10, but LSU will play four. Alabama does not play the tough East teams, while LSU plays two. How is that fair?
I am glad that LSU does not whine like men should, but it must be nice for Alabama to avoid the season long "grind" that LSU has.
Your input and comments would be most appreciated, as I want to add to the next discussion with my friends (though they probably appreciate someone who listens).
Thank you.
Someone asked me why I call myself "Mr. Sports" when I do not seem to know a lot about American football. I did so because I love American sports (I am a citizen but a native of India).

LSU can whine with the best of them.

Who put you up to this?

Someone said last night the scheduling man is an Alabama graduate. Is that true?

Holy shite .... Is this real life.

Leave sports alone, he's good people.
And while tempting, do not read his posts in a stereotypical Indian accent (Thank you, come again), he reportedly has a more proper British accent (cheerio).

Some people complain about the schedule but to me it makes the season a lot more fun to watch when you know you're going to have several slug fests against top ranked teams

PsychTiger, I do a fantastic impression, however, of an Indian accent.
I am hoping for some insightful comments, as I am trying to become a responsible LSU fan since I live in Louisiana. I listen to what my friends say, but I assume there are educated people here with a lot of knowledge about LSU sports.

Would it not be great if LSU won all of its SEC games, since it would mean that LSU beat every vanguard team in the SEC?

You should definitely repost this thread on the sec rant this afternoon about 4 pm, when everyone is getting off of work. You will definitely get some insightful conversation.

mister_sportzz said a few days ago he is new the country from India and TCU will be his first football game and loves LSU and college football.
He may be trolling, but I'm not sure why anyone would go to the trouble to make up that back story.
IMO he's a good man looking for insight on the passion many of us love so dearly. Help him out!

The OP has a point. The schedule inequality is well known. Honestly it pisses me off when LSU fans tell other LSU fans to stop whining. Its like some have just decided to take the arse rape the SEC and bama alums dole out.
Personally, i would like some real talk about what avenues of action an average fan can persue.
I know one thing, LSU fan or not, the "System" is pathetic when the so called championship game contestants can easily be picked a year in advance. All College Football Fans should be pissed about that.
But as long as we continue to support and tune in to their shitty product, i suppose it may not change. (It is however still worth trying)

I have to return to work but one more question please (and I hope you do not mind):
Is there a good book or magazine where I could really learn about LSU football, the history and the players and the strategies for the game? I am very excited about the TCU game and I want some information about what players to watch, and about LSU's traditions (for example, I learned here not to wear a purple shirt to the game because that is TCU colors).
Thank you to each of you who has provided me with helpful information.
