I am surprised no one has posted a thread about this.
Since around 11:30 central.
WSJ blog says look at apple right before the halt.

Hope it is cleared up soon.

Pull up the call options Aug. expiry in
NFLX
MSFT
AAPL
I think the "glitch" may have started in the options. Maybe someone more familiar with options can add to the conversation.
Trading expected to resume next 20 minutes. Just announced. In 8 minutes start taking quotes and then resume trading about 1:30-1:45 Central.
Now they are saying resume trading 2:10 Central.

Watch the volatility pop once they reopen. The trading algorithms are going to go haywire for a few minutes.
Time to put in a buy order for 50% of current price and see if it gets filled

it dropped below the magic $500 mark.
icahn tweeted, so it will probably open up.

should I go drag up all the posts of the bitcoin haters talking about how unreliable bitcoin was because the major exchange halted trading?
the most vocal of them even posted in this thread.
I guess that NASDAQ isn't held to the same standard at bitcoin exchanges, eh?

Nobody is touting the Nasdaq as the next life altering, government crushing, freedom having, Fed busting thing either.

Since you obviously are referring to me, I'll respond to your uninformed and desperate post.
How much value did the dollar lose today when trading was halted on NASDAQ?
When bitcoin exchanges freeze up, the value of bitcoin crashes.
See the difference, dumbass?

That was a hit on the NASDAQ. And it was the third glitch last week. Some more shady shite going on as usual IMO by the big dogs behind the curtain, but I could be wrong and maybe those were all really just ETF glitches.

Not sure what the point of that article was, so volume dropped when the Nasdaq halted trading?

The bigger issue in this is what Nanex has shown and a study by some hippies kind of touched on: How can dark pool trades differ from the national best bid and offer (NBBO)? I guess dark pools could technically argue that their duty to clients was to provide trades around where the last trades existed on lit exchanges. Then how did the lit exchanges' price differ from the NBBO? Actually, why in the frick does the NBBO not follow the data streams from lit exchanges during time periods like that?
