How good of a Right Tackle is Zach Strief

can't wrap my arms around this thought if you know what i mean. I was praying Marcel Jones would go into beast mode but doesn't appear so.

Not as good as a LT as Charles brown

Somewhat good run blocker, avg pass blocker

Interestingly, PFF just tweeted that Only 5 OTs have more snaps this preseason than Bryce Harris, and he has yet to give up any pressures.

He has height and long arms, with helps him with run blocking. However, due to his limited athletic ability, he has trouble against speed rushers, and needs help to slow them down initially so he can get into position.

The best answer is that not a word about RT has been heard in camp or in two games so far.
That is very good in my book
Case closed.

Everything I've heard on my front has been positive. He's healthier than he's been in 2 years, had solid showings in practice and in the last two games. Unless he aggravates his old knee injuries, we're shored up at that position. Plus you always have Armstead who could use experience.

They moved Jones to OG because 1)Harris was outplaying him at RT and 2)injuries to C Olsen and OG Tiller left us thin in the middle.
Like you I was hoping Jones would step up but if anyone is going to replace Strief it will be Harris.
But I do think this is a plus for Jones because I haven't heard a lot of negative about his tackle play and getting experience on the inside of the line will make him versatile and help him earn a spot over guys like Olsen, Tiller, and Lelito.

I always look at not just the performance level but performance at what price? 2013 Cap $123mil
$123mil divided by 53 man roster= $2.3mil
Strief is a $2.575 cap cost
He has about maxed out his play to pay ratio to me. He'll be a 30yr old that will likely get a better offer somewhere else as an UFA next year if he stays healthy this season.
Brown an UFA too. If he plays well at LT he will be even harder to keep.
Wouldn't be a surprise if next year it is Armstead at LT (only $680K) and Harris RT (ERFA)

I'm hoping that brown plays well and signs a 2 year extension or something on his contract at a decent wage.

i say armstead at rt---he will relax and learn faster without the lt pressure ---then we move him to lt?
