Jackson, MS Metro Area Alumni: Which LSU Alumni Group Should I Join?

I'm still kind of new in this town, so I come to the Rant seeking its advice. Jackson, MS has two LSU Alumni groups. One is associated with TAF, and the other is not. I recently met the VP of the group that is NOT associated with TAF. He seems like a really nice guy, but I want to find out more about these groups. I've heard from some people that the guy who heads the group that is associated with TAF is not easy to get along with, but I've heard the same about the President of the other group as well. I hear the two groups here don't exactly get along. Does anybody have any experiences with either group that they would like to share? TIA.
