what you use to cut them down the center like that?
I've always used my bread knife because I find that the serrations help going through the shell (kind of sawing at it).
I think my favorite red snapper tool would work good too. I know you probably have a knife like this, given your red snapper prowess.

I seasoned the hell out of the boil and they picked up little to no seasoning. I have heard that you can poke some holes with an ice pick but never tried it...

ah wow good to know. may just stick with salt water then. Or have 2 different batches to try out...

When you did them on the grill, what temp? I'm guessing not too hot and didn't take long?
I'm going to do some boil veggies like corn potato mushroom sausage and garlic. I'm thinking I may do them in there own pot with crab boil season. Still not sure if ill use salt only or other season with the lobsters.

I was grilling ~350, had the lid open and basting with butter most of the time. It didn't take long to cook...

Ordered a dozen yesterday and just picked 'em up at the local UPS store. Never imagined having a dozen live lobster shipped to Louisiana for $100! Going to boil after the game, next batch I might try steaming and grilling.
This thread and bourbon appreciation have been very informative. You've got quite the collection Nola. First pour in a few minutes will be Weller 12/107 blend.

I bet the lobster guy is wondering where all these Louisiana orders are coming from...

Yes I am very glad to have found this place...cheap lobsters, primos, and heads up on bourbon...all good in my book!
I'll be hitting the sauce later on today...gotta be sober enough to cook lol. How is that 12/107 mix? I heard it's pretty good...50/50 and let it sit for a week?
I showed the lobster guy this thread. He had seen the one from last year. He said it was funny after you got the first order and every one knew it was legit...he got like 15-20 more.

12/107 is great for the price. I do mix it around 50/50 and let it sit for a few weeks.
Lobstaman will be getting regular orders from me as long as prices are this good. Do the prices move as much as crawfish or do they remain steady?

Gonna have to try that.
No idea on price, this was my first order. Agreed tho it stays like this and I see me eating lobster more often.

Boiled the lobsters and they were very good. Next time I will grill and steam. The 1.40-1.65 lb were another $1.25 per, will probably go with those next time. Wish I had cooked before the game....

When I did it I seasoned the water and got it hot, and sucked the water up in a turkey injector and shot it all in the tail, and then boiled them like crabs.
Came out pretty damn good.
