I've heard Scott Adkins name being floated out there for Batman.

There are several of great black heroes...why bother making white heroes black? Is it because some audiences (black people included) won't support a lesser known commodity and prefer the brand label?
fricking Iron Man was a b-lister and Marvel turned him into their #2 commodity behind Spider-Man.
List of great black heroes, IMO:
Black Panther
Luke Cage
GL John Stewart
Falcon
Cyborg
Mister Terrific(my personal favorite)
Lightning
Static Shock
Firestrom (technically half black)
Monica Rambeau (she's an Avenger)
Bishop
Cloak
Steel (frick you he's a good character)
among many others..so with all of these roles out there, why make a white hero black?
To OP:
No to Bloom.
I'd rather Brolin than Bloom.

Anthony Mackie is playing Falcon in the next Captain America movie. Hopefully he's popular enough to warrant a spin-off of his own, as I've always liked Mackie and think he could be a great leading man in a comic movie.

Idris would be perfect for this. Love the character too.

Seriously, the first two names that popped in my head after hearing the announcement at comic con and thinking a bit about The Dark Knight Returns were Josh Brolin and Idris Elba. I think Brolin is the best name I've heard out of all of them, but Elba would be badass if they went in that direction. I don't think it'll ever happen though.

I get what you're saying, and I don't even necessarily disagree. I think making a white superhero black in a movie just for the sake of doing it is stupid. In this case though, I think it works. Elba is a big guy, smooth talker, distinguished. Except for the fact that he's black, he would fit perfectly imo.

Terrible choice. Ever since troy I can't take that pussy seriously.

No…it really doesn't. Bruce Wayne is white. Bruce Wayne has always been white. What sense would it make to turn him black?

Why would it make any difference?

Why does it matter if he fits the role? It's not pertinent to his character that he is white.

Cool. Make him Night Thrasher and lead the New Warriors.
quote:
Night Thrasher's parent's were killed in front of him when he was very young. He started to hate lawbreakers, and began to train in the martial arts in order to punish them. He forgot about how his parents died and the face of their killer. He later learned that his parents had been killed as part of a plan orchestrated by an elderly Asian women named Tai. During the day, he ran the Taylor Foundation. By night, he trained and began to patrol the streets. Dwayne met two other vigilantes, Silhouette and Midnight's fire, and the three began to try to lessen the gang population in New York. Both vigilantes were the children of Dwayne's guardian, Andrew Chord.

What? To say batman, or any superhero cant be black because he always has been white is bullshite.

More than just us think it's not a bad idea. A lot better than fricking Orlando bloom.

Jason Statham would make a good Black Panther. I could see him as Blade too.

I dont know anything about Black Panther, but he isnt big enough to be blade.
