Mathieu didn't really start returning punts seriously until the end of the season. He was used sparingly at the beginning of the season along with someone else, and was just tryin to get used to things. I forget who shared punts with him. So he was basically not really showing what he was capable of then to be fair to him. If he had run like that at the beginning of the season no telling how spectacular that season could have increased to.

He is the most amazing playmaker on the defensive side of the ball that I have ever seen, at any level, in my entire life. He wins games, changes momentum, destroys the morale of the other team, just everything you want in a player.

His returns against uga were absolutely sick. The one where he didn't get into the end zone but to around the 20 was better than both his return tds. That one was just plain disgusting.

Best player to ever don an LSU uni ? Billy Cannon and Tommy Casanova say hello. TM 7's cover skills were average at best. Yes, he was a great playmaker and punt returner.

They couldn't touch him. He had to adjust to the college speed earlier in the season with returning and just get used to it along with sharing duties with a WR I think. But at the end of the season he really had gotten used to it and went off.

Mo didn't return any punts. He did return Kick offs, but in 2010 PP7 returned 26 punts, and in 2011 TM7 returned 27. for similar yards.
Noth returned a lot of Punt they had no business returning, i don't remember PP7 fair catching a ball till liek the 6th game.

Mathieu def split time with sombody at the start of the season before he took over exclusively. I believe it was Beckham and then Beckham replaced him the following season.
