If that's his true height and weight then the kids got a future. Why is scout missing 5 inches? You should get them to update...

Even if he isn't 5'11, he should get picked up. IF he is 5'6, he probable wont get many big school schollies but someone will take him with 4.4 speed.

Can y'all unlock the highlights. It's set on private right now. Nobody can see them. Thanks

Looks like he has everything to be elite as far as measureables. Need more video on actual play though.

Apparently we are now recruiting smaller running backs as a part of Cam's new offense. Maybe he has a chance? Who knows?

Father and no offers as of yet. Currently he's flying under the radar. Great kid

Mr. Merritt, thanks for posting here talking about your son. Please don't pay attention to the few idiots that post sarcasm or negative sh*t on the board, they are the minority and don't speak for the true Tiger faithful. I wish your son the best as he embarks on the recruiting trail. Keep promoting him as much as possible your efforts will be rewarded.

good move leaving Newman. Will get more exposure and competition at Destrehan

Yep the Mannings and Beckham had such a problem with exposure at Newman. Contrary to popular belief these kids are student-athletes. In the description student is first for a reason. At Newman you get one of the best educations in the South, not just Louisiana. Imagine that getting a great education to supplement your athletic ability.

The last link appears to be from a video from 1997. That's 16 years ago. Kirk wasn't even born yet or he was just an infant. Is it the wrong link or is the date off somehow?

Destrehan puts out more D-1 players in 3 years than Newman does in 20.

Gotcha. Ill check em out, man.

4.4 is an eye catcher. That will grab anyone's attention. Keep your son working hard and he'll keep their attention.

And that's what matters. Nobody was shitting on Newman. But it never hurts to get more exposure.

That link is a video of Kirk when he was a 12 year old running the 100 meters at the AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moine Iowa. He was the AAU Junior Olympic gold medalist in the 100 meters three years in a row.

Mr. Merritt, your son has a lot of talent. Thanks for posting his highlights and letting us know about him. It's obvious that he's fast and has great hands out of the backfield. If I were advising him, I'd say that he should focus on improving his lateral strength and quickness. That would help him be more fluid in his cuts, maintain better balance, and be more difficult to bring down.

Thanks again for posting and please come back at some point during the season and let us know how he's doing.
