I just said why.

You trade in hopes of landing a young prospect who turns out. Whether it be a middle reliever, 5th starter, utility infielder, or diamond in the rough stud.

I like Schierholtz and DeJesus as players but they do nothing for the future.

Why not hold Scott Feldman?

Probably because he was pitching as well as he ever has in his career and his trade value produced a decent return. strop hasn't given up a run in a Cubs uniform.

DeJesus doesn't have much trade value and is a leader for all the younger guys on the team. Front office knows they aren't going to get anything that would outweigh keeping him around to be a mentor for the younger guys.
