Most of the customers complaining about it have never experienced deeply discounted digital sales though so they really have nothing to compare to.

I will take 75% off already lower digital pricing all day vs saving $5 on a physical copy.

Xbox was also going to allow used sales but they were going to limit them and control them to put money back in their and the devs pocket on second hand license transfers.

You're operating on the assumption that all of the above would be true without any precedent from Microsoft. Hell, they didn't even mention any of the positives the system could have brought.

I don't think the cost of license fees and transfer should be at the customer though. That should be in an agreement between retailers and publishers, and not forcing those costs on us (which goes along with the penalizing comment).
