This is to logical for the SEC and people trying to protect there schedules.

Under you plan really only Fla, USCe and Ky get screwed, they pick up Bama and Auburn each year. Probably not a fair trade. But Fla wants to play GA each year so that is the price.

Tenn only adds Auburn they already paly Bama and Ga only adds Bama they Auburn each year. Instead of calling it the East call in the Rivals Division. Call the West the we don’t give a hell Division.

There are very simple solutions if the SEC really had any interest in balancing the schedules or preserving tradition. They dont care about either.

1) Moving Bama and auburn to the East and Mizzou and UK to the west. All rivalries are preserved. Divisions are hugely unbalanced, but hey, its all cyclical, right Bama?

OR:

2) Rotate all opposite division matchups equally. If UT/Bama or UGA/AU want to keep their annual game, let them. When they arent part of the rotation they can still be played as OOC games that dont reflect any SEC standings. Preserves the rivalry and still balances the SEC schedule. Then if UT ever gets good again, we'll see how important that "rivalry" really is.

Nothing will happen to change this until the SEC starts getting some heat from ESPN and the national media. If the media decides to make this their pet agenda like they did with college football playoffs, instant replay, black coaches, defensive players winning the Heisman, running Penn State's football program into the ground over the Sandusky scandal, etc, then it could change.
