By the Auburn game...

Watched the Ole Miss game last night along with a few games during the Summer and that group was not stellar last year. We know Loston will be back there but other than that I don't see anyone who is a guarantee. Mills seems to be the guy people are touting but guess we'll see.

Which one of White and R Robinson is most likely to see significant PT? Both have had rave reviews.

Depends on how the young guys respond to being under the big lights.

No way to know. CB is a hard position to play as a FR and I'd say Mills held his own most of last year.

I think Mills is a starting CB and the other starting CB by the Auburn game will probably be White. (Brazil and Rashard need a little more polish)

As far as safety goes, losing Reid will probably be a plus IMO. He stunk last year. Loston will have a spot and the other safety position is up for grabs. I have a hunch it'll be either Thompson/Martin in it though.

I have to think White will regularly see the field, either as one of the two base defense starters or at least as a consistent nickel/dime package contributor.

Robinson may also play, but he strikes me more as Ron Brooks type. He will be a valuable special teamer and then maybe a starter later in his career. When I compare him to Brooks, that is high praise as I thought Brooks was one of the more valuable members of the defense his last two years.

I actually agree with you, was not that impressed with the corners last season. I will say, they were both freshman (redshirt Collins) and hopefully they have developed this offseason.

So you think mills, who's a star in the making but had a few freshman mistakes, will be replaced by another freshman?

White will play a lot, he'll either be the 2nd or 3rd corner but none of them are jumping mills.

Then there is Holmes and Raymond who redshirted and listed at cornerback along with Thomas.

White, Brazil, and Robinson will all get PT IMO.

Brazil might be a phenomenal nickle.

Mills and Collins for 2 years unless they slip a bit.

White and Robinson start the next year
Then we have Tolliver the next year who, IMO, is the next PP7, Brown, Paris, maybe Hootie.

This is outrageously unfair in our secondary LOL

Our defensive scheme depends on stellar CB play. Considering what we did last year with the youth at CB, I think we will be improved all around on defense this year.

Considering that both freshman outplayed Simon last year, I think we're in pretty good hands this year. I expect to see a lot of Corey Thompson this year too especially if Loston gets banged up again. White and Robinson are the heirs apparent to those positions in 2015 once Mills and Collins leave.

Why are you basing everything off of this one game?

S: Loston
S: Martin
CB: Mills
CB: Collins

Nickel: Eugene
Dime: Add white or Brazil

I think white will end up passing up Collins kind of like Peterson in 2008.

White, Loston, Martin, Mills. Collins still your nickel, Eugene still your dime. Robinson's rise will be delayed by his late arrival.

Between Mills, Collins, Thomas, Holmes, White, and Robinson, we'll have a lot of good options.

I just hope Mills and Collins learn some lessons from the Clemson debacle. We threw three corners at Hopkins and nobody could even so much as slow him down.

It was the first year playing for both Mills and Collins, so hopefully they gained some valuable experience.

CB- Mills
S- Martin
S- Loston
CB- Collins
NB- White

Collins WILL be starting next year. Chavis has groomed him specifically for this season. He will have a breakout season and will have a 3rd round grade after the season and could possibly go pro. He is more fluid and flexible than Simon was, and is extremely physical and rangy with great ball skills.

Everyone is excited about White, and for good reason. Kid is a stud. But, its extremely hard to come in as a fresh and start. And not just start, but take Collins spot who looked really good towards the back end of the season. Mills started because TM got the boot. White or Mills will be the NB and the other will be the CB opposite of Collins.

We have a trend of how we use CBs. We have 1 big, physical, rangy CB out there paired with a smaller ballhawking CB. Weve done this for quite a few years. Collins will be that big book end CB. Mills will be the other. When we go NB, Mills or White will be the NB. I cant remember the last season our 2 starting CBs were under 6'0.

RR is a great looking prospect with unreal potential. But, is light and hasnt reported yet. Redshirt.

Eugene was our best blitzing DB last year and we all know how much Chavis loves to send the CB. He will be the dime back and will take on the Ron Brooks role.

Yea, let's forget how well our freshman played the entire season. Nah, frick that. Let's only remember 2-3 games where they actually showed youth.

You're an idiot. Mills gained accolades as a freshman.
