Why Are Some Threads Anchored Immediately?

The thread with the cop who assaulted the girl got locked down in a hurry. Why? This board serves a means to get these kinds of stories out to the public because the mainstream media refuses to. Is TD becoming the same thing? Sure seems like it when stories like that get locked down so quickly.

It was a legit story about a cop who assaulted a girl with pics and links posted in the OP. A good topic for debate and a story that the public in general deserves to know about IMO. Why was it anchored so fast?

He was trying to draw hate for this cop, but left out the part where the cop had been charged with felony assault by a public servant..
