Doesn't matter man. The Depth Chart appears to you differently than it does to negative recruiters.

In our eyes, Hill is gone this year or the year after. In their eyes, he's still a true sophomore.

In our eyes, Hilliard is a Junior, and could be gone. In their eyes, he's another talented RB that will take away carries.

Add in Magee who many thought was the best true RB we had when he was a freshmen.

Then you have Adam Taylor

If we take Taylor, we don't have this big of a lead for LF it's that simple.

Don't believe that for one single second....unless you are saying that Taylor was really a 5* talent instead of the low 4* he was rated.

On the Anderson deal, I don't focus on 2015...I'm focused on 2014 class. That is why I don't comment on the Dylan Moses threads. I think it is silly to talk about a guy who is 4 classes away.

And other teams have so much more ammo against Bama in this same regard, who is the only team we are truly worried about with Fournette

but do YOU think that Fournette would be scared off by Taylor

No, I think the coaches just weren't blown away by Taylor. I also think the risk they were gambling on was that 1 of Hill/Hilliard would stay in 2014.

VT, on your negative recruiting statement. Let me give you another take on negative recruiting then as it played out. "You know, LSU hasn't taken a RB for 2 years in a row, Leonard. Don't you think that is awfully fishy? They say they are clearing the ranks for you, but I bet the other RBs saw the OL which hasn't been blocking the best in the world and send almost no one to the NFL."

I am NOT saying that is my opinion but please don't begin negative recruiting theories, because they are an infinite amount of them. You can NOT anticipate every pitch being made whether Taylor signed with LSU or not.

Bottom line: worrying about negative recruiting is a total waste of time and will drive you nuts.

3rd best back in Texas for 2015. Interesting

Would be a good pickup for you all. I don't think Texas will recruit him as hard since they're looking to land Soso, Jay Bradford, and Chris Warren.

I agree in principle with you about balance and recruiting a RB in every class and this strategy does leave you thin if LF signs and at this point, that is not known. Now, the coaches do have a better idea of where we were with LF than the public and keep in mind if they take Taylor, then someone else in the 2012 would have to go. It's easy to say a guy like Spears or maybe Riley, but those guys are giving you depth elsewhere.

yeah would be a great pickup, he's a great back. I want us to try and get into Soso's recruitment

I went to Katy. Coach Joesph (head coach) is and has always been a fan of LSU and really enjoy going to their coaches conventions LSU puts on

Guice, Brosette and 1 more back next year

I still think we take two but I do agree with this:

We'll find more out about David Ducre this week. He had a good showing at the last camp, but he may be a LB in the future.

We can't afford 1 back this year unless brazil is 100% rb and I still think we would need another. Losing 1 or 2 backs to injury in a year is pretty common. We need more depth.

Ah, the days of "double secret commitments"...I miss those days {just kidding} I agree that the coaches know a lot more than analysts and fans but schools get fooled all the time. I will just take 2 -s for LSU and 1+. Do you really think that LSU thought Janzen Jackson was going to flip to TN on NSD? Do you really think that LSU thought that Gunner Kiel was going to renege at the last minute and enroll at Notre Dame? Also, I think Bower came to an absolute last minute shock to LSU that he ended up committing (the + example}.

My point is that the one thing about prospects is there are surprises every single year...big ones. You saw what Vanderdoes from 2013 class did right? Committed to USC...decommitted with USC...signed with Notre Dame...thought about himself getting homesick. Last I heard he was going to UCLA. All of this saga took place in less than about 4 months.

All good points, all also anecdotes. For every Janzen Jackson and Toshiro Davis, there are literally a dozen or more Tre Whites and Lael Collins that commit early a stick. It's easier to remember and point to the crazy cases and not the others, but then again planes landing safely never make the news either.

Your concerns are completely valid and it could blow up in the coaches faces. But then again it might not.

This scene explains it pretty well I think

Loved your clip but I have to raise you a Doctor Who! I agree that these are the exceptions but we are only talking about one guy...Fournette. Thus, all it takes is one exception right? Anyway, as far as future events might go, here is my answer!
