Stay away from tunks. That place is crap. Very expensive for meh food.

Seafood : robbie g's (alex) or fants (tioga)

Mongolian grill: Kahns (alex) the food is good (not amazing but good) but the dining experience is fun

American: anchors (alex) is a steakhouse/sushi place. Great menu w/ great food. Spirits (alex) is great for poboys.

Mexican: los portales (alex or pine) is my fave.

Pizza : johnnys (pineville) or phillys (tioga) are both solid.

Those are just a few. Alex/pineville doesnt have a thriving fine dining scene but there is good food if you look for it.

My real response is something like what jibbajabba said, I guess. Tunk's is absolutely hot garbage.

Robbie G's used to be money back in the day, but if I'm doing it Fant's is now the better bet. Fried or boiled, don't expect anything fancy, but it's good for what it is.

Spirits is pretty solid.

I'd pretty much take a pass on any Mexican.

BJ's > Johnny's for pizza. FLAME ON FLAMERS

It has been years since I did Suburban Gardens (Italian), but it wasn't bad back in the day. It could have gone to crap, though. I feel like it's probably solid.

Outlaw's is a total guilty pleasure of mine. I know I've had "better" BBQ but the whole nostalgia factor makes me defend Outlaws forever. The Chopped Baker or about 3 chopped sandwiches and an onion loaf.

I'd put the Oriental Wok in that same category. There's certainly better, but definitely not in the area. The sushi bar is not bad either, but I hear Mikado is the new "it" place for that sort of thing.
