Figured I'd post my first impressions since no one else has posted anything. This was my first game playing since the day the demo released.

Presentation: The menu's in the game are pretty nice, and the game loaded up A LOT faster then last years edition. The load times could be due to the fact that this is a digital copy and not physical but I doubt the load times will change much. The main menu is kind of cluttered but once again still a nice upgrade from 13'. I only played an online ranked match so I didn't look at the intro's or get to check out the halftime show but I will be doing that soon.

Gameplay: and all a the same time. The guy I played had the read option accessible in his playbook but he only ran it about 5 times throughout the game. He had a couple 5-6 yard gains but nothing spectacular. I will say that tackle ratings and user skill will be HUGE this year. Those read options put you in a lot of 1 on 1 situations which I'll talk about later. The speed is slower then last years but it didn't feel terribly slow like the demo and if it was any faster it would be really tuff to pull off user tackles.

Everyone knows the running game is 10X better but the passing game is no slouch either. There were time where my receiver bobbled a catch and then pulled it in, skied for the ball, or even actually caught the ball and then dropped it so that was nice to see.Recievers beat there presses at a high rate so I don't think we will see to much man defense with safeties 10 yards up unless you are matched up against scrub wide outs. Curls actually work against man press coverage sometimes as they should and deep post will actually get separation.

CONTROLS: This is why I was banging my head earlier. This new "physics" they have added into the game affect all direction changes so when you are trying to play line backer and you take a step in the wrong direction you are toast. I'v also yet to pull in a user pick because my defender rarely is in the right spot due to momentum so that will take a lot of practice if you plan on being good at it.

Any questions fire away and I'll update later

Glad to hear the passing game is good. I noticed in the demo that you really have to lay off the hit stick on tackling.

So it's realistic? Unless you're an elite linebacker or just that much better than your competition that's how it plays out. One misstep makes a huge difference.

I can't wait until I get my copy. I really enjoyed 13, but was frustrated with its flaws, and it seems like they addressed many of the gameplay flaws that plagued me. I've also read on other sites that the CPU is much better in the new recruiting and is definitely a challenge.

Anyone do RTG yet? I heard nothing much changed except camera angles and quarter length.

I didn't pick up 13 but still play my 2012 dynasty regularly.

Have they made any significant changes to the dynasty?

TIA

The game is still going to suck. In about 2 weeks this and all other gaming boards across the internet will be covered with threads and topics about how they made improvements in areas A, B, C, while areas D, E, F all remained the same and areas G, H, I all took steps back.

Same shite different year in short.

I have one day left on my season pass so I'll download the early release and play it a bit tonight but my expectations are pretty low. It's still the same company that has given us the previous shitty NCAA titles.

This game requires next to no defense. They did all these offensive revamps and are like pshhh screw defense, it's fine as is. Very unhappy with the game at the moment.

Anybody else half want to send A&M and Mizzou back to Big 12 and go back to a 12 team conference?

My three main issues are mundane so far. One stands out from the rest as an actual gameplay flaw.

1. Ball carriers breaking a tackle unnaturally even when getting hit full force

2. Bitches couldn't update SC scoreboard

3. Kirk Herbstriet still has no clue what he's talking about. Everytime I run a curl route and the receiver drops the ball thrown directly at him, Kirk is talking about how I was lucky it wasn't intercepted. And apparently I go for it on 4th and long every time I punt. He tells me how idiotic it was to do that.

Looks like it will be another year with commentators on mute.

how they changed the recruiting is kinda crappy. You can set it and let it go and you don't have to pay attention to it. (note I haven't played it but seeing stuff on youtube on it just looks crappy) Gamestop's review of it really blew it. Still waiting on IGN's review on it. If I get this can't get it till august but I may not get this.
