Had a buddy ask me what I thought/knew about them as he's considering them as a career option. He's contemplating going with them or another large firm (i.e. EJ, MS, ML, etc.). I honestly don't know a whole lot about them as a company. Anyone have any thoughts on them? Do they offer any type of training program for people new to the industry? Buddy has a few years experience in an acct/fin role, but I'm not 100% sure exactly what he does.

Sorry forgot to say that he's wanting to do financial advising. Personal finance is the finance area he likes the best and is why he's contemplating a career change.

Knew someone who was an analyst in their Tampa Florida office. He did very well. It's not exactly on par with our NYC buddies but since its Tampa cost of living was less and no income taxes.

He enjoyed it but worked his arse off. Also told me he was in a "good" group. He worked there from 2007-2011.

After 3 years they really pushed him to go to a top grad school to get his masters.

I know a few RJ employees, seems like a decent company.

It's an independent firm. He isn't just jumping in as an advisor. He's going to have to go elsewhere first. But it is a good company.

Stable but pay is a little lower than other places. They should have keep more of the morgan keegan people around and fired some of the rj slugs.

Make sure he goes independent.... More money & freedom
