I like rum at the beach, as well.
What's your go to non-Bacardi? I like Appleton and Flor de Cana.
Haven't drank any rum since I got back from Belize in December. The rum there is lightyears ahead of anything Bacardia or the other mass producers put out in the states that I've had / looking at you Sailor Jerry

I would like to find something that's similar to a traditional Caribbean style rum .. made from sugarcane, nice and thick without being syrupy, no rubbing alcohol flavor. someone rec'ed me a couple on the board a few months ago but I forgot them.

I don't drink rum a ton, but I really like Zaya rum. It runs about $40 a bottle but it's delicious. I ended up sipping like scotch. It's really tasty.

Rum:
El Dorado
Mount Gay
Bayou Rum just released. It's a Louisiana distillery using our sugar cane. Should be able to find in stores soon. I will probably try to pick some up this weekend.

Keife & Co. is where I've been picking up rums lately. El Dorado is my jam and I like Brugal as well.
