Call information for the Virgin Islands, St Croix. Ask for the Raibow Beach club and get the recipe for a Calypso daiquiri, you can thank me later.

Employees Only Sangria. Can make a large batch of the syrup ahead of time and just add wine.

Make it. Then come back. You dont want something high in alcohol on the beach. Its too damn hot. You need something you can drink all day.

That looks good. I like the star anise addition, as I recently purchased a big jar of that at Mona's Market, in hopes that I would try to figure out something to do with it.
By the way, that Antoine's review was brutal.

The syrup makes your house smell awesome.
The review was not nearly as brutal as the meal.

I like rum at the beach, as well.
What's your go to non-Bacardi? I like Appleton and Flor de Cana.

Pineapple rum punch is a damn good one.

beer or a margarita on the rocks

One of the saddest moments of my life was when my heavy duty straw punctured the bottom of my hollowed out pineapple while on the beach at Puerto Vallarta.
The drink was lost.

A cold one.
Hour one:
Vodka(Tito's usually)
Pineapple, cranberry, peach, splash of soda/sprite for some carbonation, pomegranate, limes, grenadine etc. Just mix until it taste right. Anything fresh/fruity is a good way to start the day, and could care less if it's not "manly".
Hours 2-8
Cold beer & bottled water...Presidente, Modelo, Dos equis, corona, BMC, whatever. It's hot and as long as the beer is cold, I'm drinking it. Depends what the beer of choice is on the beach, or if I packed an ice chest.
Hours 8-til
Bourbon on the rocks on the balcony until my wife tells me that I've had enough.
That there is a fine day.
