Online Purchases only on CC

I've often heard that people will only purchase items online using a credit card. The reason behind this is if someone were to get access to the card number they don't clear out your bank account if you were to use a debit card.
What does the MT do?
What does the MT do?

Only have debit cards. Isn't anything reported within a reasonable time frame usually safeguarded?

Ya I guess, but still a hassle.
But really, my reason for purchasing every thing possible on a CC has little to do with security, and more to do with getting free stuff.

This, between saving up tons of points and getting 2 $400 sign up cards, I redeemed $2,000 this year.

Why would you ever use a debit card when a CC acts the exact same way, but in addition you get free stuff?

This.
I carry a debit card for easy access to funds/transactions in a pinch, but always use a CC.
Better fraud protection, and better rewards.
Folks, you are more exposed to someone stealing your card info at a restaurant than you are online.

Oh you have some recourse.
But less than you would with a CC.
And in the interim while the investigation is going on, the only thing you are missing is the value of the item frozen from your credit.
The money is GONE from your bank account and you are hoping to get it back.

For fraud, rewards, and MC benefits like extended warranty, accidental replacement, etc.

One was Chase Sapphire Preferred and the Other was the NFL Barclay Card

I can tell you've really researched this
I mean...You should probably research stuff before you pass on information as truth. That's just me though. I don't like sounding like a dumbass
ETA: And I use a CC for points. No other reason. The whole "hassle" about losing your debit card and theft is no bigger than the hassle when you lose your CC. It's a hassle either way.

The way I understand it is that your exposure on CCs is limited to about $50 by law. While debit cards with a CCs logo (i.e. Visa debit, etc.) will traditionally honor this $50 limit, there is nowhere near the same guarantee.
However, more important to me is that if you dispute a CC bill, you keep your money until it's sorted out. If you dispute a DC charge, you have to fight like hell to get back the money that you probably need for other things. Big swing in leverage and practical exposure.

False. The EFTA says that you're limited to $50 liability on debit cards as well if reported within 2 days.

It's called experience.
Ive gotten a fraulelent charge on both before.
Bank basically said, "Eh, really? We thought it was legit. Can't help ya, but well help you move your accounts to new numbers."
Was a national bank too.....
CC was smooth as can be....
So you can take your smug attitude and shove it.

Thanks for the heads up, wish I could have gotten the nfl card when it was spend 1k, get $400.
All: Get pend fed gas card for 5% at gas stations. I get about $15 a month auto added to my account and the only thing I buy is gas with that card.
