Just another reason to like Kid Rock. And I didn't even need one.

I'm not sure what his draw is these days, but I'm guessing still sizable enough??
That's commendable of him to try and keep these things affordable, for whoever would like to go see him...

Its the Bud Heavy crowd. 20$ tickets was brilliant by him. His fanbase will eat it up. I think he is playing 7 or 8 sold out shows in Detroit.

Some of these shows are with ZZ Top. I'd see that for $20. Kid Rock is pretty good live.

I don't think Kid Rock is an act that will draw top dollar tickets. $30-40 maybe. $20 sounds reasonable.

What fan base wouldn't?

My first reaction to seeing this was to rib the piss out of Kid Rock about how no one wants to pay over $20 to see him anyway, but then I saw this:
quote:
I want to do $4 12 oz. beers, cheap parking, Wal-Mart partnered up with us, you can get a ticket there with no service charge, so it’s $20 out the door. If you go through Ticketmaster it’s $5 [more], I’m still not crazy happy about them charging 25 percent of the ticket price for their service I think that’s outrageous but we’re going to try to deal with that in the future...

Im all for people cutting tickmaster out of the equation. The problem is Live Nation. A lot of venues wont book you unless you work with LN.

He's seems like a cool guy and all, but he just doesn't play my style of music.

The service/convenience fees they charge on tickets are out of control. I'm glad to see someone is attempting to do something about it.

Louis CK recently did a tour where he did all his own ticketing. You have to be pretty popular to do that.

That's pretty cool, I didn't know that. I know he was one of the first to sell a downloadable copy of his show on his site for like $5 (Aziz and a few others did the same after).
