I think the show should be done with Megan at this point or at the very least show the last of her early in season 7 leaving Don for another man.
Agreed. Megan is lame. Even her exotic hotness has worn off. She's still fine, but Draper could be pulling in girls ten times more attractive.
quote:
Am I the only one who wants to see Pete happy and thriving?
Possibly. Pete is an a-hole. He's spoiled. Selfish. Has been since the first ten fricking minutes of season 1. He ruined possibly the dream relationship that any guy would want. Super hot Trudy. Perfect housewife Trudy. Trudy's rich, giving father. She was even cool with him doing girls on the side in the city.
On top of that, Pete Campbell was hitting on a high school aged girl. Can't forget that. Dude is willing to screw underaged girls because all he cares about is himself.
quote:
Is Ken's eyepatch permanent?
I don't think so. They showed him wiping tears from his eyes last week to show us that he didn't lose the eye.
quote:
Will Bob get his in the end or have we seen the last of him?
Not sure on this one. I can't figure Bob out. Honestly at this point, I'm not sure the writers have Bob figured out.
quote:
You don't want a show like Mad Men to end on a cheesy note like Don and Betty getting back together(like Jones suggested), but I kind of want that for all parties involved.
It won't. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Betty lose it again once life actually gets tough with her children. She thought Sally was a witch when she was a mouthy preteen. Now the girl is in high school with two rich fathers and a mother who doesn't really give a shite about her. The girl is going to cause some pain for Betty, and as we know with Betty, she does dumb shite when she doesn't like what's happening in her life.
I foresee Betty divorcing Francis for someone not rich and ends up begging Don to come back to her.

Does Roger die and leave his shares in the company to Joan? Joan/Peggy running the agency in the end?
I can see this. Roger had a heart attack early on. They have to come back to that eventually I would think. I think that could be a sweet ending to their character arch. Roger and Joan have always had a thing for each other. They have a kid together. Roger could redeem his entire life by becoming a good husband and father.
quote:
What is Sally going to do? Woodstock?
Inevitable. I wouldn't be surprised for a scene next season to show Sally sliding across a field of mud while high on LSD and dudes with flowers in their hair unbuttoning their pants for her.
quote:
This show has to end in L.A.,right?
I think so. Would be good to show how New York lost its prominence going into the 70s and 80s. We've see the city get less safe with the riots and all. Los Angeles becomes the place to be once the movie industry truly starts thriving.

I think so too. Thank God.
quote:
Am I the only one who wants to see Pete happy and thriving?
Probably.
After the "would barely kill a squirrel" comment about everyone's favorite gun in Pete's office, I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to shoot himself next season and totally botches it. Or tries to shoot Bob. Just because he's Pete.
quote:
Will Bob get his in the end or have we seen the last of him?
I have no doubt he'll be back to torment Pete and Roger to an extent.
quote:
The conversation Don and Betty had this episode was a highlight for me. First, I was in the no-way-in-hell they ever sleep together again. However, Betty crying to Don and Don calling her "Birdie"-in front Megan mind you, was heartwarming. You don't want a show like Mad Men to end on a cheesy note like Don and Betty getting back together(like Jones suggested), but I kind of want that for all parties involved.
I'd be happy seeing Betty grow into a bitter old hag. And I certainly don't want to see her with Don.
quote:
Does Don even go back to advertising?
Yes. But he's going to do it on his own terms. And I have the sneaky suspicion that after life without Don for a few months, Cooper and Co. will be begging him to come back.
quote:
Does Roger die and leave his shares in the company to Joan? Joan/Peggy running the agency in the end?
I wouldn't be at all shocked to see Roger die with his heart problems. I could see him setting Joan and their son up before that happens though.
quote:
Peggy and Don can they ever reconcile?
Absolutely. It's like a spat between Father and Daughter right now. It'll take time, but it'll mend. Peggy will see, while he went the dickish route in doing it, that Don was right in that she needed to quick fricking around with Ted. And giving up his spot to California for him. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Don decided to create his own firm that she'd get the first phone call to join up.
quote:
What is Sally going to do? Woodstock?
Sounds about right. She's going to absolutely wild out. Should be epic.
quote:
This show has to end in L.A.,right?
I think so. Don has certainly been trying to get back to California. And NY has gotten very stale for him.

Yes. Yes, you are
quote:

Bob hasn't really wronged anyone but the POS Pete. So I could see him "movin' on up"
quote:

Yeah, that won't happen and would be way too cheesy. But, as you said, they did salvage Betty a bit thankfully.
quote:
Trudy is so freaking hot, she needs a sex scene in there.
quote:
Does Don even go back to advertising?
He does, but as others have mentioned I think it's as Don/Dick.
quote:
Does Roger die and leave his shares in the company to Joan? Joan/Peggy running the agency in the end?
Definitely see something with Roger and leaving money to the kid and Joan. Please do not have that bitch running the agency though. Peggy is cool, but Joan is too much of a bitch.
quote:
Peggy and Don can they ever reconcile?
Yeah, I think Peggy and Don will likely always work together.
quote:
What is Sally going to do? Woodstock?
Perfect.
quote:

It'll be "bi-coastal". Depends on where Don goes.

I'm suprised at the lack of love Betty is getting here. It seems to me that Weiner & co. have really focused on turning her around(when the story allows it), starting with the Sally/period episode last year. This season, she went to check on Sally's friend, was a loving mother to Bobby, seems to be finally able to connect with Don even with sympathy to Megan(one of the best scenes of the season), bonding with Sally and last night's scene I found to be very touching between the two.
Maybe it was just me.
As for Campbell, I think when Pete doesn't let his ambition get the best of him, as it has for most of his screen time, he can very likable. Sad character, but likable.

how long do you think next season's gonna be?
I mean hell the surrounding characters only show up every few episodes

I think Pete can be a halfway decent guy when ambition is not in the way.

Come Season 7 I'm going to be so ready to see Don wreck shite.
I am surprised by the amount of love for Don here. Everything bad that has happened to Don is of Don's own doing. I don't see the next season as being a big redemption for Don as much as I see it being his final falling.

Pete is actually my favorite character. I know he is a scumbag. The characters sense of humor is a lot like mine though.

He's the main character and hasn't really been introduced as an antihero. We're rooting for Don. We get pissed at him for his shittiness because he's supposed to win us over like any protagonist.
I have a feeling he will. I think next season will end with us again wanting to be like Donald Draper.

But, is Don slowly becoming Dick Whitman again? I think that might be the direction they are going for next season...

Agreed here, you really shouldn't hate Don, just his actions. Don is a sympathetic character.

Really? He had approximately zero redeeming qualities in S6 until he gave up his spot for Ted.
Even when he got Sylvia's kid out of nam, he didnt give a frick until he knew he could plug Sylvia again. He was pretty sickening this season.

I have to agree with Dr.3 on this one. He needs to make a major change...and at least one his coming...

I'm speaking as a totality of the character, not his actions of season 6.

hey! new to the party here.
i'm still stuck on her wearing the sharon tatum red star tshirt.
she could be murdered by manson as a way to write her off the show..we are in 1968 right now..1969 is when he killed her.

Before Don gave up his spot in Cali, I was thinking Meg would get killed out there and Don would feel guilt over the death of another person. I think her story is pretty much done at this point.

I don't see them writing Megan off as a death, too much speculation now.
