Using championships as a barometer for judging players is a highly flawed exercise. Which is why I don't do it.

And neither should you.

Nope. Great players find ways to win the ship, that's what greatness is based off of

Yes.

And it's flawed in TEAM sports.

well, the argument is so flawed, b/c if LBJ wins 7, MJ jock sniffers will still pick apart the titles and find a reason to crown MJ. they hide behind the "MJ has 6" argument, but they'll find a reason to discredit everything LBJ stands for.

Yep. Had Ray Allen missed that shot at the end of game 6, we hear about how Lebron is a choker. Now we hear about how great he was just because of a shot his teammate made

Lebron is the same player either way, win or lose that game. However, when looking at his overall legacy, the 2011 series against Dallas will always be a bad mark. It was great that they got to the Finals, but Lebron played at such a worse level than his career numbers. It is one of the main reasons that Jordan will always be ahead of him (another big one is Jordan's shooting percentage is better). It may be unfair to place such great importance on a few games, but Lebron's individual performance in that series was horrific.

I made this argument a couple years back when people were saying that Dirk would be top 10 if he won but only top 25 if he lost.

Similarly, does Jim Kelly magically become a better QB if Norwood hits a 47 yard FG?

Does Brady become worse if John Kasay can kick off in bounds?

I agree 100%

But when he gets to 7, it won't matter either way
