Real golf tip: spend lots of time on the practice green before a round focusing on getting a good feel for the speed of the green. Get the speed right and you will 3 and 4 putt a lot less. Also, play a little more break in a putt than what you think.
This is also great advice. So many strokes can be wasted on and just off of the green.

play below holes, commit to two putting every green, game improvement irons etc. etc.
I used to shoot anywhere from 90-105 until I started practicing regularly and I took one lesson and it chopped 10 strokes off my game the next time out. It just takes time

I'm looking at the scorecard now, and my brother shot 116. I shot 98. And my brother was only maybe 15 at the time.
So I don't know why you guys are shooting 130.
And we play fair because we compete.

Here's my scorecard from Monday and my friend who played for the first time in 2 years
Capitol Hill Golf Course - The Judge
Orange Tees 71.7 / 131
Me Front 9 54 +5 on hole 4, 1 green in reg, 3 fairways, Back 9 63 11 on #10,8 on #16 par 3, 2 Greens hit, 4 fairways hit. Total 117
Friend Front 9 73 10 on #1, 10 on #6(par3), 15 on #7 Back 9 78 3 10's, 12 on #10, 11 on #15 total 151
If you are truly new to golf you don't know how to get loft on your chips. If there's any elevation, sand or water around the greens you are going to chip over the green or into the sand or into the water constantly because you can't hit your irons onto the greens and you haven't had enough practice to control your chips, or even putts. Not to mention driving OB off the tee box which I still do on a regular basis.
I have a scorecard with a 94 on it, played a round where I never took more than a triple bogey. I know a lot of golfers that play that way and tell me they shoot in the 90's and 80's.

What's your highest score on a hole and how many greens do you hit in regulation? If you hit a drive off the tee box left into water what do you do with your next shot?

I don't pay attention to any of that. If I go in the water I give myself an extra stroke and take a drop.

So you don't keep score. Got it.

Which is why you don't shoot what you reported.

What do you mean I don't keep score?
Posted on 6/20/13 at 4:52 pm to LNCHBOX
Started about a month ago played on a course twice. Second time I score a 137 and was happy.

If you don't pay attention to any of that, you're not assessing strokes that you should be.

A believable score. Congrats.

You don't shoot bogey golf in 10 rounds. Stop lying.

This is how I kept score. This was years ago when I was a teenager. Here is my actual score card I'm looking at:

I can write down I shot 62. Doesn't make it any more factual.
Posted on 6/20/13 at 4:58 pm to PrimeTime Money
Lots of triple and double bogeys on that card. A little different from your original post. Also, that is an easy arse course. I believe you shot around 100.

But I'm telling you it's factual. I would compete with my brother when we'd go.
We wouldn't let each other cheat because we compete.
That's how I can tell you it is legit.
If I went by myself, then I can write down whatever the hell I wanted.

Kingwood cove is the biggest piece of shite course I have ever seen. You were prob one of the many people wearing jean shorts the last (and only) time I played there.
