What's the best app for tracking your score on android? I used Easy Scorecard, but I want one with a course map
LINK
Has course maps, keeps your score along with stats... After every hole you input your score, number of putts, GIR, where you missed the fairway, penalties, etc.
Sounds like a lot to do, but it literally takes 30 seconds...

Agree, I have hit some 320 on baked out fairways with a tailwind and downhill, but my average good drive is like 250-260 maybe 270 if I really catch one, and my average average drive is probably 240.
That resembles my game.....

Don't say but it was a par 3 course. A par 3 is the absolute best place to play when your starting. You work on the scoring shots the whole time. Drives look good, but if you want to learn how to score well, learn to chip and put like a wild man. The long game can come later but nothing is better then getting a great short game.
Harvey Pennick said golfers should learn how to play from the hole back. Work on putting the most, chipping next, easy 3/4 irons shots, and spend the least amount of time on driver.

I don't drive it 300 yards
I rarely break 85
I love playing the game
And my handicap holds up in club championships or real stroke tournaments.
Keep a true score and watch your improvement. It is fun to beat 8 and 9 handicap players in match play events...because they bullshite their scores.

There are two types of caps....
sandbaggers and vanity caps....most have a vanity cap, IMO.

i've used golf logix for over a year now and love it
i find the distances to be decent as well
if you use the markers and the distance golf logix gives you, it can really help to figure out almost exactly how far out you are
love the stats feature as well
its amazing how three putting will frick up your score

sandbaggers
I am not there - but I do count very shot.
A very important skill is to know when to bet, how much, when to press. Before my kids came along, I loved playing in the Saturday morning money game. If I was not winning the primary pool, I was collecting from side bets.
But damn it feels good to beat those vanity handicap guys...

Yeah I'm honest about my game as well. I have been playing 20 years. My average drive is 245 to 250 and I keep them in play and hit some fairways. I have hit some 300 on dry courses with the wind behind me. I am able to score ok because I play the correct tees for my length. I realize I'm not a tip player.
I shot between 78 to 85 some better some worse. Ive hit par a few times on easy courses. I am inconsistent with irons and driver but my dad taught me short game first so my putting and chipping bail me out and allow me to score pretty well. I pretty much always just try to hit the fat part of the green away from trouble so I have manageable chips and lag putts.
I love this game and can't wait till my little boy starts playing just like my dad and I.

played in a scramble once where you had to have at least a 20 handicap or better to play
well im a 24 (I'm awful, just started a few years ago) and my team (all under 15 caps) told me to just say i was a 19 or 20 so i could play
i figure thats the only time its ok to be a vanity cap in a scramble, if everyone knows you're real cap and they're ok with it and you're only lying about it so you can actually play a round with your buddies
but otherwise lying about your handicap to make yourself sound better is just a really good way to lose money

To hit it 300 consistently is quite a feat. Pga pros barely do it. Hitting it 300 with any sort of consistency when only ten rounds into your golfing career is damn near impossible. You just can't square the club face on a reliable basis if your new and swinging that hard. To hit 300 you have to either swing really hard or have your weight shift and leverage down to a perfect science. There is no way a new player has this down in 10 rounds.
I'll go to the range before a round and correct my slight slice before I play.
I know people say a baseball swing is bad for golf, but I don't transfer my weight the same way a baseball player would.
On the range I'm around 300. Sometimes less, sometimes more.

You state these things as if you are still playing and playing consistently. No one says "I'll do such and such" if they are not currently still doing said "such and such." Typically, someone who played only 10 rounds and stopped playing would say something like "I would" or "I used to."
Your shtick is retarded and transparent.

I use skydroid because it uses the satellite map images so it is easier to tell exactly where you are on the map. The distances have matched up pretty close with my buddy's laser. I don't think you can track your shots with it though.

is it free?
i use the free version of golf logix
with the free version they only update the course map about once a year and always gives you distance from middle of the green

If only correcting a slice was as easy as hitting a small bucket on the range before you tee off
