Must be a troll attempt, but anyone who realistically thinks MJ isn't one of the greatest ever has zero music credibility.

He's certainly better than Bruce Springsteen

As a musician, yes. As a person, no.

He was a good dancer, and a good singer. I don't think he was great at either. He had a great production team and marketing team. Quincy Jones is very talented, and I think Michael Jackson gets a lot of credit for his work. Thriller isn't my favorite kind of music, but it is an undeniable classic of the 80's.
As for the child molestation thing, I think that it is very possible that he didn't molest those kids. I think he was strange enough to think that it was normal to play like a child with little kids. I don't think it was necessarily sexual. I wouldn't feel comfortable with any of my young family members alone with him or anything. I'm just saying that I wasn't there, and I don't know.

What instrument did MJ play? I would consider him an entertainer, not a musician.

He was very talented. His solo stuff was never my cup of tea, really, but I liked "Man in the Mirror", and the pre-Thriller stuff okay.

MJ composed most of his later stuff. As great as Quincy Jones is, I think he gets a little too much credit.
Check out this Billie Jean demo that MJ did completely by himself (with background vocals by Janet)

The flute?
But he did know how to play the drums, piano, and guitar from what I understood

Not really. You don't get that much attention for something like molesting kids without due cause.

Michael Jackson was huge. Very talented I'm sure. Very popular of course.
Do I listen to or enjoy his music? No, not at all really.
Springsteen kind of blows too but i will listen to a couple of his songs.

This. Mediocre singer, pretty good dancer, and good songwriter. Dont think we can consider him a musician. He had an amazing supporting/composing cast. I still love alot of his music despite all that, much the same way I like George Straight's music.

I want to know how someone gets the title of "musician" but can't play a single instrument...
