arent jalapeno plants supposed to be put by themseleves because they release something in the air and can ruin the plants around them?

Don't know about that, but they will cross pollenate with other peppers sometimes if they're side by side. I've grown some hotass bell peppers because of it before..

AWESOME!

Those are looking good.

Mine haven't started forming cones. I feel like they're a few weeks behind everyone else this year but they're growing pretty strong still.

Its hard to see in the pic, but this nuggett hop is covered in big, fat cones. My cascade and magnum havent starting forming any though.

I can definitely see them. Looking great.

Cascades and Chinooks are lacking here too. I think on of them is starting to form the buds though.

I have my jalapenos in the middle of my squash and next to my basil. I'm harvesting squash now and my basil is doing fine. I've never noticed anything problematic when planting jalapenos next to other plants. I use the square foot gardening method so I have a lot packed into 32 sq. ft.
