If Williams wants in, he's a take. Period. And if it means losing on another receiver in the process, so be it. I don't care if ita only one year. He's that good.
And while on the subject, any and all other receiver recruits should know that their chances of getting a scholly aren't diminished because Williams is part of this class. Hell, if Cam does what we all think he will to this offense, there is a great chance LSU loses 5 wrs this year (OBJ,Landry, Leslie, and the two SRs Wright and Boone). That would leave 6 wrs on board, two of which would be a SR (Fobbs and Armand Williams) in 2014 (not counting however many they take in this class). The other four are Freshman. Taking 6 in this class would be smart. Williams, Blacknall, Dupre, Quinn, Noil, and Chark (theres some talk of him moving to defense). Upchurch could move to TE so I didn't list him there.

I don't think Williams is a take IF LSU gets the others. Sorry, a great WR for 1 year is NOT worth losing an almost great WR for 3 years. Plus, you start all over again on that position he used up for that 1 year only. Nope, I can't buy that at all. And also, once again, ANY WR scholarship could be taking away a DB scholarship or a RB scholarship, etc. I like balanced classes by position and 5 or 6 WRers is not balanced by any stretch IMO.
LSU does not need 6 WRs, and of course I'm assuming Chark is moving to DB as you mentioned. I for one would not be unhappy with just 4. Leslie got in, Peterson is there, etc. IF those guys had never qualified that I would be more concerned but add in Dural, etc, LSU is not going to be short on WRers with even just 4 in this class. I like Kadron Boone but Wright has never panned out despite all the hype, so LSU is losing obviously some talent at WR but not a huge amount of quality depth.
I do agree with you about Upchurch moving to TE or might even be in the backfield and come out on plays from there. Regardless of where he plays, he is going to go downfield a ways and even though have mentioned him as a RB some, I think he stays as a receiver (WR or TE).

Williams is a take no matter what.

Was nothing against you...I am just a little upset and confused on how he is handling his recruitment.

He better get back on board soon because the Wr board will be adding a few names the next few days.

No problem, and I agree with you. It is a sore spot with me also that a guy SUPPOSEDLY claims LSU is his dream school and then reneges on his verbal right after giving it. What changed? BTW, of course the "dream school" is overused. Probably most won't remember this but you know who else said "LSU is his dream school"...that was Rhaheed and of course he decommitted also. These days when someone says LSU is their dream school, I take it with a grain of salt. Two guys decommitted after saying that. To be fair, I don't remember the Daub guy out of Florida saying that and of course he decommitted also (committed last year, decommitted last year also) in this 2014 class.

Let's just say something bad happened and it put him in a bad situation. He has to do what is best for him and his family.

I heard about his cousin being killed right? But did that or something else happen between the time he committed and decommitted? 3 days I believe? Yeah, someone went into detail about the violence situation but didn't say when it occurred and of course said that it might be better for him to move out of state.

That happened, He was threatened.

We will have to see how the situation plays out.

It happened right before he decommitted. It was the reason he decommitted. If he's cousin hadn't been killed he'd still be committed. All the whole I didn't think schools would stop recruiting me was bullshite, he didn't care, he knew were he was going the whole time.
Now it will all be up to what D'haquille does and what he feels comfortable with. If he thinks he would be safe staying in state, he'll no doubt be at LSU. If he feels threatened he still could stay instate but more than likely would go to Auburn or Texas.

From what I have seen, Williams is about as good as it gets at WR. Absolute take.

shite...well I feel like a big a-hole right now. I had no idea of any of this. If he ends up not coming here because of that, then thats fine.

BB, thanks for the info. I was obviously just quoting what was written up about his decommitment "the stopping of recruiting" was what they said. Guess you should not believe everything you read but no one disputed that until now.
You know I have a suggestion for law enforcement in LA. Why don't they spend half as much time investigating murders and threats of harm and prostitution at motels around the I-12/Airline Hwy area in BR if the BRPD instead of putting resources at any bar fight involving LSU players...you know bar fights and shoves that happen all the time. My guess is the communities would be much safer in general.
