I don't know crap about the show or the book. I tried to police the stuff that shows up on the RA list but I don't know the difference between a legit post or a troll post when it comes to the GOT.

Look, my only issue was OM landshark's linked post in the OP. I read he got a PM and apologized which is fine by me.
I think the non-readers go a tad overboard, but they don't want reader input. I respect that.
The middle ground thread was actually a great idea, because I'm only middle of the 4th book. I got spoiled just the other day in the book thread.

I'm not sure it was Fred Carson, but one of the admins did make a comment along the lines of "Not this Game of Thrones shite again ..." It may have been in some random OT thread if I'm recalling correctly. I used it for my sig quote a short while, but right now can't recall who posted it.
