Rebox'd this game today. So far the story is pretty predictable and the actual gameplay is on par (not a good thing) with other ND games. Bunch of filler gameplay. Should have just made it point and click like The Walking Dead game to get the story out there.
Hopefully it picks up.

I'm thinking it may just not be for you

It definitely picks up. The 2nd half of the game is impossible to put down. I agree that the beginning kinda sucked

For me it picked up once you hit the outskirts and are dealing with the infected.

I think I really dug it once I hit Pitt. Game was money after

I'm in Pitt now. I need to clear some free time to knock the game out but I keep getting small spurts.

I just beat the game last night.
A few things bothered me, but I would give it a 9/10.
The Bad: It was plagued at times, as Uncharted was, by predictable and completely unrealistic things, as well as the amount of gun battles/sneaking. The world was literally set up like a paintball field at times . The lack of craft able weapons was kind of annoying, but alas, still fun.
The Good: The game is beautiful from start to finish. Weapon mechanics were awesome, and there was enough gun selection that it never got stale. The length was pretty much perfect. The separation of the game into seasons provided a good segue between cutscenes. The story was Hollywood quality from start to finish, and the connection and growth between Joel and Ellie, and the connection between them and those they encountered was very palpable. You actually grew to like the characters.

Got through about an hour of my second play through on Normal+ this time.
Hoping I can knock it out pretty quick and go to Survivor+ next.

How does that work. If you beat normal + can you jump to Survivor +?

Did you play easy the first time?

I think you can select Survivor+ any time.
I beat it on Normal and it was unlocked but wanted to beat it on Normal+ then go to Survivor+.

Why not play on hard? Just curious

I don't know, Normal then Normal+ since I usually play on normal.
And you get to keep your upgrades and stuff so I'll go to Survivor after Normal+ and you get the trophies from the difficulties under whichever one you choose.

Does it not allow hard+ after normal?

Ended the night halfway through the hotel. Those nail bombs frick some people up

It does, but you beat Hard+ if you beat Survivor+.
Like if you're playing through it on normal right now, when you beat it you'll get the trophy for beating it on Easy and Normal both.

I'm on survivor + and I don't think I have a single upgrade carry over. Wwtff? Am I missing something. I'm OT sure I'd want weapons and such on the account of it being counter to why I'm playing it on hardest setting but not having as many upgrade pills is going to suck the deeper I get. If I could at least keep my crafting and weapons sway skills which were maxed that would be a nice thing.

It only carries over if you play the same difficulty.
quote:
Here’s what New Game Plus offers: -Your Health -Stats such as increased health, increased time for crafting items etc. -Your collectibles -Weapon Upgrades -Crafting Levels These things will all carry over when you play the game for a second time. Bear in mind, “New Game Plus” is only possible in one difficulty mode. If you completed the game in normal, you cannot play “New Game Plus” on hard mode. If you want to play an easier or harder difficulty mode, you will have to play an all-new game from scratch.
