Figured we could get a little thread going for sharing tips, tricks, product suggestions/reviews, and asking questions. Plus we can share our kits and I can be jealous

Same size as mine. I've been trying to get a head combo that I like and feels good while playing forever and FINALLY got one hammered out. Powerstroke Pro and ported ebony Powerstroke3. I was skeptical about the PS Pro but they had one on a kit at my local shop and it sold me. I've been playing it for about a month now. Tunes easy, perfect amount of muffling for my taste, and plays extremely well. I running a coated emperor for a while but it had to much 'boing' to it.

I have the thin one. Great little cymbal.

What do you put in your bass? I'm currently resting two of those small pillows it came with against each head.

I used a rolled up towel with zip ties on the ends for a while. Lightly resting against the batter, not touching the reso.
The PS Pro has a foam ring (kinda like the one they used in the Muff'l) held on outside of it. Looks god awful but I haven't had to use anything inside now. This is it

I use squared Egg crate foam 1/4 of the width of the diameter of the drum held in place by Velcro straps. Make sure the foam touches both heads

Hahahah yeah Steve Jordan is one my biggest influences I like the versatility of a deep drum.

I have looked at a couple that size before. PROBABLY about to put S-Hoops on my brass.
Forgot to put my rotos on my setup list. Don't use them much but the guy at guitar center in dallas listed/priced them wrong and I got the whole setup for $150

Anyone here ever run cast hoops on a brass snare? I wanna try it because my snare is a little wild but its tough convincing myself to "try" something for $100. Especially when s hoops are $40.

EBay is your friend. I got my sweet ride used for $120 and it looked brand new.

I would say so.

After playing for 26 years, I sold my set. Now 3 year later, I'm itching to play again and will be going with 5 piece DW and Paiste cymbals. Old kit was a 5 piece Tama Rockstar that sounded ok with brand new heads and a fresh tuning but always fell out of tune after a few practice sessions.
Man I'm ready to play again!

This is something I would have to get used to. I go to Forks here and love this place! The new As are there and sound awesome! So clean and crisp.

Hijack.....
Sort of.
I love drums.
How many of you play professionally? Not saying Neil Piert is in here posting. How many of you are "working" drummers or even just play publicly as in a church type setting (free)?
Just the commitment to size and space in a home? My guitar annoys my family enough. Just always been curious as to recreational drummers.

I fill in with a couple of local bands from time to time but nothing major.
