I'm still not grasping why a swing speed argument creates unfairness....a guy with a higher speed at impact will always gain an advantage proportionately or not....

the newer equipment standards help everyone hit it further....seems pretty fair to me

I agree with what threeputt is saying, but my biggest reason for wanting the balls regulated is because a player can generate spin out of the rough on the newer balls where in the past hitting from the rough was a bigger penalty..this is due to both the balls and the grooves (which also were recently regulated)
