Brentz went with the next pick.

Syndergaard, Taijuan, Castellanos, and Olt went after him in the sandwich round.

Yeah, Brentz, Castellanos, and Olt were the three I was thinking of. Not that any of the three are sure fire bets to make it or anything (Castellanos and Olt have struggled this year so far), but all have nice offensive upside and Olt or Castellanos would be nice to have as potential future 3B.

All would have been good picks. I think at the time we were desperately trying to find some talent up the middle which was showed by going SS, CF, SS in the first three picks.

Thankfully at least Simmons hit, but yeah, sucks that Lipka has not worked out.

Many here wanted us to take Ranaudo when it came time to pick for obvious reasons. Another guy who went just after Lipka.

I was really hoping for Castellanos, but he was out of our price range.

I was miffed we didn't grab Brentz back then given our need for corner OF with power at the time and him dropping. Lipka was a pretty big reach at that pick.

Brentz is a Knoxville kid. Know him and his brother. Definitely wouldn't have been disappointed if we had drafted him.

Nice patience by Justin. All pretty damn good pitches except for the last one.

Gattis has been just missing a bunch lately, too bad.

What are the chances Wood takes over for O'Flaherty in the back of the bullpen next season?

Given how well he's pitching right now I doubt he gets moved away from being a starter unless he proves he can't hack it there.
