You can compare him to Collison if you want. There games are nothing alike but that's ok
You keep missing the point of the comparison. It has nothing to do with style of play and more to do with overvaluing.

Collison gained all of his value in 1/2 of a season his rookie year. He was the guy on a team missing Paul and West. He took the league by storm when no one had a gameplan for him.
Vasquez is probably the better comparison.

And we already have Vasquez.
Hence my reluctance to trade a bunch of assets to LA for Bledsoe in addition to giving him a new contract.

Yes. Meaning we trade him while his value is at an all time high, like we did with Collison.

Obviously it depends on what those assets are. You aren't forced to give him a contract. If you're trading GV and Lopez for him it doesn't really matter because they are due new contracts too. Roll the dice on the guy with the upside IMO.

Like the Clippers are trying to do with Bledsoe...

Yes, his value is at an all time high coming off three seasons as a backup PG

Rolling the dice on Bledsoe doesn't do us much good if we still have no starting SF and if some of the pieces we trade (Gordon, Lopez, etc.) create new holes to fill.
I just see the point as a position where it would be nice to improve but we don't have a glaring need.
That's opposed to the 3, where we need a starter, the 5, where we need a better starter, or the 2, where we likely have to flip a malcontent and replace him with someone who wants to be here.

Yet you can't dispute it, can you?

And you think the contracts will be similar?

I understand. Ive already said I want to with roll with Rivers and GV at the point.
There will be a lot of moving parts and we have the draft and free agency as well. This is just one of those scenarios that will likely set off a series of moves.

Then why the need to champ so hard for Bledsoe? I don't get it.

One of the most misleading stats to me ever. I know it LOOKS spectacular. But watch him play. There is no doubt in my mind that the guy will struggle to score in the NBA.
Which likely means he'll be one of the GOAT.
DeMar DeRozen is doing just fine off of athleticism and defense. Good hand/eye coordination and the ability to slash and finish with elite athleticism goes a long way.

Oladipo reminds me of Wade too. Super athletic, great defense, quick hands. Only thing is Wade had better ball handling (which was something he had to work on coming into the NBA like Oladipo). And Wade was better at creating his own jumpers. To say Oladipo is another Aminu is pretty ridiculous. He has the upside of a Wade-esque player. And at worst, he will be a Tony Allen with a little more offensive ability. Pretty good ceiling and floor.

If you're projecting Rivers as the starting 2,
Not sure how or why any Pel's fans would want this right now, or how anyone can possibly think he is ready or has the ability to be an everyday starting 2 guard in this league.....
Strictly based on what I saw from him during the course of this season.

Jordan is way over paid for 8/8 numbers.
I remember when people thought we had a shot at trading for Melo too.
