I commend you for playing devil's advocate in this thread, Chad

so tell me, at what point does would one not fish around a dock? should you just fish around it, then move on? is it rude to park up next to it for an hour?

If someone is fishing on the dock then I think you should pass it by but if not then you have just as much right to fish it as he does.

I would get your connection to the private oxbow to talk to the "owner" and see what the deal is. I couldnt see them swaying towards the dickhead since ultimately both are "renting" access each month.

I wouldn't fish a dock that an owner doesn't want fished. If there's other docks that the owner's have no issues with it then good for the fisherman. Maybe owner is being a dick, maybe he feels you're being a dick for fishing his dock. Etiquette wise, i think its best to just fish elsewhere.
