I've been to Seattle a handfull of times and that trip was one of them. From Pike Place Market to the piers, to the Space Needle, there were LSU fans all over the city. Talking to Seattle locals, they had literally never seen anything like it.

We took over the big boats that the bars rented out for sailgating. Our captain who was a good looking girl probably late 20's was real cool. She said that we needed to keep quiet and respect the wedding that was happening next door while we were docked but as soon as we leave we can be as loud as we want. As soon as the boat left the dock there were people tigerbaiting the wedding...it was ridiculous

It was a GREAT trip. My favorite road game until the Oregon game in Dallas. I think there were more than 3k just at the tailgate party I went to.

Best away game experienec I've had as an LSU fan and that weekend is up there on favorite lists for both LSU fandom and just for a great weekend with friends. We had a group of 6-8 LSU fans, my roommate at the time, who was a Huskie, and a few tag-alongers. We tailgated as a group with som UW people that were set up next to us who were very friendly and welcoming. I ran into a handful of friends and acquaintances in Seattle and had no idea that they planned to go. Not sure about the numbers of LSU fans in total, but 3k seems like an underestimate for sure.

bullshite and bullshite. The LSU fans loved it, and there were at least 10K, not 3K. I was there. We took over that pathetic campus. LSU fans had a huge party on their "Quad". Their fans were pissed that our 10K partied harder than their 50K.

Building a house on Orcas Island and plan to move up there in two years when our youngest daughter graduates from HS. Already planning "tailgate parties" at the house on game day! Might have to catch some UW games so I can wear my gear and watch USC get beat.

it was a fun trip indeed, and now I want to live up there.
I lived in Seattle for three years. Fantastic place to live. Moved back south because of family, but I know where you're coming from. Awesome region of our country.

Your friend is an idiot.
We had several hundred local alumni from Seattle and Portland at the game. I personally arranged to buy $20k in tickets to redistribute to LSU alums here in Oregon. LSU sold out its full allotment so we had to buy tickets from UW. I would say LSU had at least 10k fans at the game. Huge presence on campus, on the water and around town considering what a long roadtrip it was for most LSU fans.

Weren't a lot of people happy to make that trip and see something different?
10000 x Yes.

Awesome pics.
One of our alums up here has a boat and was docked at the Seattle Yacht Club (right near UW). I sat on his boat for a couple hours on Saturday and saw lots of boats loaded with LSU fans (just like your pics) streaming by all morning. It looked like a purple and gold Navy had invaded Seattle.
We had to beg LSU to bring the band. In fact, that's why I signed up on TD (under my previous account) was to solicit support to get the band to Seattle and promote the game to our local alumni. The band came and I stayed until the very end -- sang the Alma Mater three times with the band after the end of the game. I have no memory of anything after the middle of the 4th quarter though. My wife had to tell me about my singing the next day. :csb:
LSU had never before (and never since) played a game in the Pac NW. We treated it as a once in a lifetime experience. Hopefully UW and LSU will play again someday.

Pac 12 schools don't travel like that at all.
I've been to a UCLA/UW game in Seattle, an Oregon State game in Pullman and had season tickets for the Beavers in Corvallis the year they upset the #1 ranked Trojans on Thursday night. The road team rarely brings much more than 1000 fans unless its a rivalry game (like UW/WSU or UO/OSU). I'm sure Wisconsin brought several thousand out to Corvallis and the Ducks probably see that many when they have hosted schools like Oklahoma in Eugene but you don't see Pac 12 fans travelling a great distance to see their team on the road anywhere near like you do in the SEC and Big Ten. So it probably is a bit shocking to see 10k road fans descend upon Seattle. Unless UW is playing the Ducks or Cougs, it just doesn't happen.

consider the local peeps, they're not huge sports fans, not a slam, but they're just not that into it out there

People on the West Coast have about a million different interests. It is what it is.
Weather is fantastic up here right now. Record high yesterday. No rain in the forecast. I should be outside scaling some mountains.

yeah, I meant to add, that there's too many other cool things to do out there, I would love to spend more time up there doing those things, as I said not a slam, one of the coolest parts of the country
