What do you think about Will.i.am re the "music stealing"?

I really used to like Will.i.am. I saw a bunch of interviews with him over the past few years on BBC. He always came across as a very intelligent, down to earth guy who really loved music and was trying to promote awareness for electronic music.
I'm not putting blame on him. I don't know how the music industry works. When he says things like:
I don't know if that's true or not. It may be. It may not be. But there is a lot of evidence pointing to him doing this a lot recently.
What do you think?

That happens a bunch of times. Where legal takes so long but creative is instantaneous. And a lot of times, the community, for the sake of the art, bond with each other.

Sounds like he knows he can get away with stealing music from others. "the community, for the sake of the art, bond with each other". I wonder if he's paying them off after the fact for the bonding, or just being a piece of crap and somehow justifying it.

He pretty much became all the worst things about the music industry about the time Fergie came along. They weren't that bad back in the day and actually made creative music.

Yea, that makes me a little disappointed. Seems like he could have been a good advocate for the EDM scene.

I met him in an elevator once in Dallas. Nice dude for the 45 seconds I was in contact with him.
His music sucks though.

This might be true, but it's a crap excuse. So his new single comes out a few weeks later. The earth would continue spinning.
