The Indigo Snake is the largest snake in North America, reaching lengths of 8.5 feet. They commonly feed upon venomous snakes. Following their extirpation of Alabama, the population of copperhead snakes skyrocketed there.
Indigo snakes are a favored snake for strippers' acts because they are long and docile and rarely bite.
The Orianne Indigo snake society is working to protect and manage land for the benefit of the snake.

That's actually a pretty badass snake. Like a king snake, but bigger and less ornery.
Seriously, I'd like to encounter one of those in the wild.

And spiders eat all kind of flying insects....
Roaches don't do anything useful. Creepy bastards.

We see them quite often down at our place in s tx. They are massive and black and scare the shite outta me every time I see one. Our neighbor took these pictures.

As a reptile lover I've always wanted to see one of these in the wild. We don't have them up here and they're rare even down in the southern part of the state. I think the subspecies that lives in TX is fairly common, but the eastern Indigo is endangered.
Very cool snakes. I considered buying a captive bred one for a pet, but they're expensive have large space requirements.

I think it's labeled as a "threatened species" in tx so its protected from collection and killing.

I bet she is DTF
Unfortunately If she's accustomed to what she's holding in the picture I couldn't do a thing for her...

I bet in exchange for volunteering she gets to use the snake for one show a week. Oh and IWHI.
