So let's get a pelicans smack consensus on the future of the franchise so we can tell them what they've done wrong. Should we start with the hatred of Gordon or save that till the end so they don't hang up on us?

That PIN isn't very personal ...
I'm in.
EtA: I approve of the use of Pelicans Smack. Did that get some traction among the people and alters before the threads were wacked?

I'm listening. I'm learning a whole lot . . . soooooo much . . . free agency, draft choice, etc . . . we'll see.
Eric Gordon is doing just fine and they get along.
Austin Rivers is dynamic and is working on using his left hand (thank God . . . if so that'll improve his game)
Only thing I can think of is that we are surpassing last year's season ticket sales and renewals.

Monty of offensive plan:
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 51s Monty pushes efficiency, easy baskets, which starts with defense/transition. Says you need speed & athletes. Brings up offensive efficiency!
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 1m Monty says that the team was in top half of the league in offensive efficiency last season, which he didn't expect. That's true, but barely.
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 52s Monty says speed gives you the ability to make choices. Cites the removal of Westbrook's speed from OKC's lineup making them more beatable.
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 3m Dell commends Roberts for working hard to get where he is. Was played first at SG, only started playing PG overseas. Still learning position
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 51s Monty says he prefers players who are married because they have a different perspective on their responsibilities as a pro.
Interesting
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 37s Question about talent in European leagues. Dell says it's coming back. Says Europeans are often more advanced at younger ages than Americans
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 1m Question about offseason fan interaction with players. Lauscha says they don't have to ask their players, & instead they come to him.
On Davis and Anderson playing together more:
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 1m Monty mentions making it a priority to protect Anthony Davis as a young player. Says that centers in the West have changed (more mass).
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 1m At some point in the future, he'll force teams to match up with us and not the other way around.
On NOLA being a small market trying to attract players:
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 1m Monty says having an owner who is "all in" helps, as does a touristy city and a fan-first organization.
quote:
Mason Ginsberg ?@MasonGinsberg 1m Cites player development both within the team and continuing to grow with other organizations.

They mentioned wanting to add more veterans next year, which is something that always bothered me about our roster this year. We lacked one of those old 10+ year vets that understood the league and could help youngsters like Davis and Rivers through their rookie year.
I listen to these great HOF level players tell the stories of their careers and almost without exception they talk about the vet(s) on their team who was so valuable to them when they were young.
Davis gets lots of KG comparisons, so I went back and looked some KG rookie year highlights and two of the first people I see on his team are Terry Porter and Sam Mitchell. Both guys future successful nba head coaches, and both were constantly in his ear.
There was a game earlier in the year was Davis got a couple ticky tack fouls and you could see he was frustrated out of his mind. He was throwing his hands up in the air and kept looking to the bench asking what he was doing wrong. Finally Monty took him out. He comes to the bench and on one side of him is 19 year old Austin Rivers and on the other side is Roger Mason. He started venting to Mason and Mason looks at him with a, "dude i'm just happy to be in the league", look. Thats when a PJ Brown-type was sorely needed.
I just listened to Simmons' podcast with Jason Collins and was mentioning the old vets the helped him through his early years. He also mentioned Zaza Pachulia calling and thanking him for some of the tricks Collins taught him about guarding guys like Howard and Shaq.
I think some of our young guys really missed out on things like that. Im sure guys like Anderson and Smith did what they could but they're still in the middle of findings themselves in the league too.
Bump out end of the bench guys like Lance Thomas and Xavier Henry and bring in someone like Camby

Yeah that's one thing I thought of all year. The closest we had to that was Jason Smiht, but injuries really prevented him from being out there with the young guys this year
