The Smiths is the best band from the 80s
Foo Fighters is overrated
The Black Keys is overrated (still like them though, don't get me wrong)
Pink Floyd is boring
Mumford and Sons is awful (unpopular opinion to the masses anyway)
Daft Punk is better than any EDM artist out right now. (Feels strange putting that here, but EDM fans seem to be enamored with everybody not named Daft Punk)

Lynyrd Skynyrd was overrated. Nothing special about that band other than the tragedy of the plane crash. It's generic southern rock.

Yes.
My band and I call them the Mumford Brothers. Them and Avett and sons should form one band with phillip phillips, and drive off mount katahdin

Do people really listen to this outside of parties and clubs (not that I know about this)??

Other than the fact he's an awful awful pianist? Not really, but they all sound the same to me and I'd be okay with them not existing.

I like Daft Punk a lot, but I strongly disagree with this.

I listen to EDM at work, and I would recommend it to anybody. Boosts my productivity by a non-appreciable margin.

I'll listen outside parties and stuff. But I'm usually in a sort of party mood if I do.

1. The Who is terrible. Just awful
I always say overrated, don't know if I agree with awful.
My opinion, don't know how popular: 99% of bands with female leads would have been better if it was a man.
I listen to maybe 3-4 female singers and even then they aren't in my top 50 most listened to artists.

The radio format of "classic rock" is one of the worst things to ever happen to pop music, and is pretty much a signpost of when the music industry stagnated.
Listen to Underground Garage on Sirius, and not Eagle 98.1, which plays the same songs over and over. Foreigner and Boston are two of the worst bands ever, and if I ever hear Bob Seger's Old Time Rock and Roll one more time I'm going to hurt somebody. Basically what "classic rock" is are the songs of great rock bands that actually got AM radio, and later FM, play back in the day. They've also taken a few more obscure tunes and ran them into the ground.

That's easy to say forty years after the fact. They were actually fairly cutting edge when they first appeared on the scene in the early '70's.

2. 77-82 is the most inventive 5 years of music of the last century, by a very wide margin
3. Mr Bungle is the most talented band maybe of all time
pretty solid list right here.

Drive By Truckers are extremely boring and generic.

I can't get into Bob Dylan's music although I appreciate what he did for music.
Depeche Mode and INXS are two of the most under appreciated bands of the 80s.
Licensed to Ill is a top 3 rap album of all time.

And what's the other trendy southern rock band with the fat chick singing?
