Does this mean CST can't broadcast the games?
If so, we wouldn't get to watch the whole LSU game, just whip around coverage?

All of the games are going to be on ESPN3, with games shown in its entirety on ESPN (or 2 or U) based on location. (i.e. Louisiana market would get LSU, Tennessee market gets Vandy, etc.)

This sucks for LSU fans in the southeast outside of Louisiana. They would be able to see the LSU games on CST. Not so much on EPSN's regional coverage.

You say this like CST isn't a regional station.
And besides, all the game are on ESPN3.

I hope they've stocked up on high resolution cell phone cameras for use at the UCLA regional. I don't think the ballpark is big enough for actual tv equipment.

Mike Sirotka would be a great analyst.

The frick? CST covers all over the southeast. ESPN won't show you LSU outside of Louisiana. CST will.

CST reaches Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and parts of Texas I believe, but during regionals that LSU is in (prime example would be in the UCLA regional in 2010), I'm fairly certain only the Louisiana market got it for LSU and then they peddled their productions to local channels in California since nobody there planned on televising it. States like Arkansas, Ole Miss, Alabama, etc. didn't get those games even though they had CST. Basically, Cox sports is a lesser version of the Fox Sports Network channels that are regionally based and form the programming lineup accordingly.
With this ESPN deal, they will have a camera/broadcast crew at all 16 sites with their lineup of channels showing games regionally in addition to every game being available on ESPN3. Every out of market fan will have access to LSU's game, not just those in the southeast.

I may shed a tear or two. This is awesome.

I'm curious if ESPN will send their crews to call the games (doubtful) or send some to schools without dedicated commentators, but schools like LSU, UNC, ASU with local broadcast teams will be contracted to them.
Maybe that way Ronnie can still get in on the nut.

Ronnie Rantz and Lyn Rollins are gonna come up during the broadcast and do what Kobeyashi did his first year he wasn't in the finals

While I think this is great for college baseball, this could cause problems for LSU fans.
Can we be sure that ESPN will not change coverage in the middle of games and will they show non LSU games from the BR regional without "whip around" coverage.
Guess we will see how ESPN handles it. We knew what we were getting with CST.

not to boast but we are the yankees of college baseball, when we're good everybody is a little more interested, so i'd have to think that they wouldn't "whip away" the coverage, seems like that would only hurt their ratings

Again, there is not just going to be a whiparound station, games will also be shown in its entirety on one of their many channels based on your location.
This is nothing but a good thing.
