LA House passed carry in restrnt this past week.... Its not in law yet, not even 100% certain yet, but good stop.
Im 99.999% sure u cant carry on a property where an owner says no guns. Just dont give those folks business. Right now, its no restrnts, schools, churches, govt buildings. A few more.... Hopefully restrnts are clear in LA.

When you take that enhanced course, I think you'll find that you have been laboring under a misapprehension.
A location with a sign reading “carrying of a pistol or revolver is prohibited” is one of the locations listed in subsection (13); therefore, it is also not a violation of the concealed weapons statute for an endorsement permit holder to carry concealed weapons on county property, including the courthouse, which has such a sign posted on it.
Restrictions on Firearms
Do “No Gun Signs” Have the Force of Law?
“YES” (For Non Enhanced Permit Holders) "Regular ccl"
“NO” For Enhanced Permit Holders. "with enhanced"

That says county property. Businesses are private property, if an owner puts a sign up saying no weapons, it means no weapons.

the deal is with an enhanced if i carry in a private business and i have enhanced they can come ask me to leave.. if i do not "trespassing". if i do not have enhanced and carry into a private business with sign and they catch me its real trouble.

What part of MS are you in, oleyeller? I took the SafeFireShooting introductory course in Forest, and it was pretty good. Bonus: The instructor will let you shoot, like, 10 of his guns for an extra $30 afterward.

You're not far from me then. Thought it was worth the drive up to Forest for the course. I look forward to taking their next two NRA classes.
BTW, have you found a range nearby? Insanity that Hburg doesn't have at least one indoor range (or even a single outdoor range for that matter).

In Alabama it is a common misconception that a permit holder cannot carry on school grounds. I had two sheriffs tell me this was the case but in Hunstville a few years ago a college student with a concealed carry left a pistol in a backpack at his brothers highschool sporting event. When the principal was notified he said that the guy would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. When the county attorney started researching it he found out rather quickly that it was not illegal in Alabama.

I'm really not sure where stuff like this originates ---------- probably in local newspapers. It is currently legal (and has been for years) in Louisiana to carry in restaurants if you have a Concealed Handgun Permit .

Yep. It's a different type of license than a bar because more than 50% of their income comes from food, not alcohol. Restaurants are good to go. Bars are a no go for CC.

Yes, S&W M&P 40. Wasn't crazy about it. Would have used my GFs .38 Spcl but they said if you train with revolver that is all you can carry. So I paid to rent semi.
I know, I need one.
