Were the Hornets a Better Team This Year Compared to Last?

The Hornets had a 329% win percentage this year compared to a 318% win percentage the year before. With the 1st pick in the draft, a top 10 pick, and the signing of Ryan Anderson, I would say the team regressed this year.

last year's team was better, it had numerous decent veterans. this year was almost an entirely new roster and a lot of young inexperienced players. even though last year's team was better I don't know if you could say the team regressed, it is an almost entirely new roster

Who regressed? If we had added AD, Rivers, and Ryno to a roster that included Jack, Ariza, Kaman, Belinelli, and Landry and we still didn't improve, then maybe you'd be right. But this wasn't anything close to the same team as last year.

So they had a better winning % with a roster full of young, unproven players this year and they regressed?

Don't forget to forget about the injury issues and dead money!

You really have focus very narrowly to make points contrary to available evidence.

I just think while the talent is raw, they should still be better than they were and I place that blame squarely on Monty.

Monty is a nice, values orientated person who brings up God far too many times which prevents the masses from embracing him, That said, as he has shown in Portland, he has the ability to grow young players. Scott's problem that cost him 2 jobs was that he lived and died with the vets like Rodney when he had studs in Marcus and Collison rotting on a bench, That is not my problem with Month, though. My problem is his game plan and how when it doesn't go to plan, he freaks having no fall back plans.

I really think this team missed Smith and Rivers after they both got hurt. Those were the 2 fiery blue collar guys on the team. If not for their injuries, we would have finished better imo.

You're being a little too specific. Can you be more general for us?

Marco Bellinelli was on the team last year so obviously that squad was superior

Not only were all of the younger players less capable of being consistent on a nightly basis, but the gameplan was aimed at development, not winning. For example, Roger Mason was pretty competent all season yet Rivers got a ton of minutes while having the "worst" rookie season ever.

He said that he was interested in returning to New Orleans because he felt like a god down here. Obviously that was before he signed with the bulls.

Believe he called him a monster. I was shocked when I read that

ETA: thought you meant what Monty said about him. Didn't realize Marco said that

The masses hate too much God, but they would definitely embrace an aethiest coach with the same 2 year record.

What does any of this have to do with the topic?
