What a brilliant movie. So many great zingers.

"I know him. He's too nervous to kill himself. Wears his seat belt in a drive-in movie."

Thanks, Netflix.

(Sweet thread, bro)

Lemmon and Matthau is one of the great pairings in cinema history. They work really well together. I also enjoy the grumpy old men movies.

Totally Agree. They've been in half a dozen movies together, right?

The Odd Couple, The Fortune Cookie, Grumpy Old Men, Grumpier Old Men, Out to Sea, Odd Couple II, Buddy Buddy, and The Front Page... So 8. (looked it up). Always hilarious.

"How long have you been in the United States. Of America."

"They say it may rain Friday"

"'I went to the market, I'll be back later, signed F.U.' It took me three hours to figure out F.U. was Felix Unger."

"Believe me Felix, I see da irony."

I always try to re-enact the gravy scene with anyone who's cooking a roast.

I think the TV series with Jack Klugman and Tony Randall is really good too. One of the best TV series from a movie ever IMHO.

They almost did but Matthau got sick and James Garner replaced him. IMO it worked out better in that instance.

I'm sure I'll be in a minority of one but I like the Odd Couple II better.

FYI: Neil Simon never saw a dime from the TV series. He'd signed the rights away when they made the movie. He says he never watched an episode.

The theme song always made me kinda sad. Looking for it on Youtube, I ran across the Roy Clark appearance:
