I wasn't saying injury alone dropped them that far, just injury play a significant factor in slides for guys that were considered to have high upside. Sullinger's back and PJIII's mysterious, out of the blue knee injury made their stock drop while Noel's stock has risen after being injured. In other words taking a still injured guy that's been compared to Marcus Camby is seen as less of a risk than taking a healthy guy that's been compared to Ray Allen. A so-so tournament from McLemore is more damning than a torn ACL for Noel? Torn ACL's must not be that concerning to GMs.

Agreed, Noel could slide but I don't think it is out of the top 3. Especially with Smart returning. He is too much value compared to what else there is in the draft. Provided that his knee checks out and recovery is going well.

It's really depressing there's not a sure thing among the top five in this draft.

1. Draft hasn't happened. Draft pundits must not be that concerned. They don't draft, though.
2. GMs have done some dumb shite in the draft.

Also, I think it says more about the depth of the draft than the health of his knee...

This.
No one is particularly happy with the skill-sets of the top guys in this draft. Noel, seen as a potential defensive POTY candidate, is probably projected as the best one long-term even with his leg injuries.
This is not Oden / Durant where it is a case of 1 and 1A when it comes to talent.

I think Noel has a high ceiling, but his floor is also pretty low. Typical risk/reward pick, but the NBA draft is littered with stories of GMs getting stupid over the "best big." None of us are making the pick, though, so it won't matter. Just my feeling. I'd rather get someone that can help sooner than later and doesn't already have a history of leg injuries.

yea we forget that Michael Jordan is the Bobcats GM and could draft like Alex Len with the 2nd overall pick
